Our Approach

The goal of Impact Itiner’s services is to ensure that philanthropic intentions are supported by the development and implementation of a scientifically grounded strategic plan—one that maximizes both social impact and value creation for donors.

To achieve this, we have developed a dedicated methodology for advising both donors and nonprofit organizations. Our approach was shaped through in-depth research and consultations with experienced philanthropy advisors and  with the professional support of Emma Beeston Consultancy.

„As every donor and situation is different, a key skill for an advisor is being able to adapt – to apply the right approach with the right donor, in the right way”

Emma Beeston, leading UK independent philanthropy advisor and lecturer at the University of Kent and Bayes Business School

Philanthropic Advisory Process

We have developed a four-step philanthropic advisory process for donors that integrates international best practices and the latest scientific methodologies, while also taking into account the specific characteristics of the local civil society environment.

Step 1 – Diagnostics

In this initial phase, we assess the donor’s motivations and clarify the conditions that will define the focus area, along with the factors needed to construct a strategic plan that generates maximum value for the donor.

Step 2 – Strategic Plan

Following in-depth field research to understand community needs within the focus area and align them with our clients’ goals, we develop and finalize a comprehensive philanthropy strategy. This strategy includes targeted tools to achieve the priorities established in the diagnostic phase.”

Step 3 – Practical Implementation

With the support of the Impact Itiner Advisory Council—a group of distinguished professionals and academic experts in the fields of philanthropy and civil society—and a specially developed, rigorous due diligence process, we carefully select beneficiaries and collaborative partners. Whether it involves creating new foundations, supporting existing organizations, or establishing new collaborations, our approach garantees the realization of optimal solutions.

Step 4 – Feedback and Adjustment

Alongside continuous monitoring, we provide feedback on any necessary adjustments to optimize the strategy and maximize social impact. By identifying key success criteria and performance metrics, we ensure that each philanthropic initiative is set up for meaningful, lasting impact.

Nonprofit Development Process

Our advisory approach for nonprofit organizations is built on the same robust due diligence framework we apply when selecting partners for donors. In the first phase, we identify critical areas within the organization’s operations—ranging from strategic direction and financial sustainability to operational efficiency and impact measurement mechanisms.

In the second phase, based on the findings of this assessment, we develop a targeted improvement plan to help the organization become more transparent, efficient, and sustainable in the long term. Our approach emphasizes data-driven decision-making, strengthening organizational resilience, improving fundraising capacity, and maximizing social impact.
